On Saturday, September 13, the Weber County Heritage Foundation invites you to step back in time and explore the homes that tell Ogden’s story. Our annual Architecture Tour isn’t just a walk through historic buildings—it’s a chance to connect with the people, craftsmanship, and cultural forces that shaped this community.
You won't want to miss this, and tickets are on sale now!
A Neighborhood That Shaped Ogden
This year’s tour focuses on the Eccles Avenue Historic District, where many of Ogden’s most influential families—Eccles, Browning, Wattis, Larkin, and more—built their homes in the early 20th century. These residences showcase a rich mix of Prairie, Period Revival, and Neoclassical styles designed by leading architects such as Leslie Hodgson, Eber Piers, and McClenahan.
The same firms went on to create landmarks like the Bigelow Hotel, Peery’s Egyptian Theater, and Ogden High School. Walking through these homes offers not only a glimpse of architectural beauty but also insight into the economic and cultural boom years that defined Ogden as a true crossroads of the West.
